Three days at the CV Show: what full service support actually looks like.

The Commercial Vehicle Show ran 21 to 23 April 2026 at NEC Birmingham. Halls 4 and 5. 300+ exhibitors. Around 15,000 visitors over three days. Lahat Creative was on the floor from setup to takedown, working with clients who had booked stands and needed a team to make the rest of it happen.

Exhibitions are deceptive. From the outside, the visible product is a stand and some staff in branded shirts. The actual product is a chain of decisions made over weeks, often months. Where to put the lead capture screen. Which question the brand ambassadors should open with. What to post when a competitor reveals something unexpected at 11am on day two. Who is covering lunch. Who is fixing the lighting that just blew on the back wall.

Our brief at the CV Show was to handle that chain end to end for several clients across the show floor. The work is split into five areas.

  • Stand build oversight. We worked with contractors on the build days, signed off on snagging, and made sure stands opened on time and on spec.

  • Onsite staffing. Brand ambassadors who could speak to the product, qualify visitors quickly, and feed leads into a CRM by the end of the day rather than the end of the week.

  • Press and PR. Media liaison, photographer scheduling, and press releases timed to land while visitors were still in the building.

  • Content capture. Photography and short form video shot live on the floor, with social posts going out the same morning.

  • Design support. Last minute artwork tweaks, printed handouts, and digital screen updates as briefs shifted across the three days.

This year's show centred on decarbonisation, with the EV Cafe, the Greenfleet Decarbonisation Hub, and a heavy conference programme on the route to net zero. Our clients were not all in the EV space, but the message from the floor was clear. The commercial vehicle industry is buying differently, and exhibition spend has to work harder to convert.

That is the part most post show write ups miss. A stand is not a marketing asset on its own. It is a venue. The agency work is what turns the venue into a sales channel.
